🌟 The New Deal (Kid Version)

A long time ago, after the Great Depression, many families were sad and worried because they didn’t have jobs or enough money. Then, a new president named Franklin D. Roosevelt had an idea called the New Deal. It was a big plan to help people work again and make life better for everyone.

🏗️ Building and Fixing

People got jobs building things like:

  • Parks and playgrounds
  • Roads and bridges
  • Schools and libraries

These projects helped towns look nicer and gave families hope.

🌳 Helping the Land

Workers planted trees and cleaned rivers to make the land healthy again. This helped farmers grow food and kept animals safe.

💼 New Jobs for Everyone

The New Deal gave jobs to:

  • Builders
  • Artists who painted murals
  • Teachers who taught children
  • Writers who told stories about America

Everyone could help in their own way!

💛 Hope and Teamwork

The New Deal showed people that when they work together, they can make things better. Families learned to help each other and believe that good times would come again.

🎨 Fun Activities

  • Draw a New Deal park — Imagine a playground built by workers long ago.
  • Make a teamwork poster — Draw people helping each other build something.
  • Pretend to plant trees — Use paper leaves and glue to make a forest collage.
