Could you be convicted of being a true Christian? Christian people are often the worst when they should be the best people.  I have heard of several people recently who don’t want any part of Christianity because of how Christian’s act. That is a crime shame.  It is horrible when Christians behave so badly that people fail to see Jesus. These so-called Christians don’t have the Fruit of the Spirit.

• Galatians 5-22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

I remember even as a child hearing this same thing.  Near where I grew up, there was a church and a bar on the same road. The two were about a mile from each other.  I often heard that if your car broke down, it would be better to walk to the bar. At the bar, you would be more likely to get help. Unfortunately, more often than it should be, that statement has proved to be true.  This is contrary to the teachings of Jesus.  Jesus said that people would know us by our love for one another. • Matthew 5:43-48 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Instead of showing love, there has been too many times when so-called Christians have acted like pharisees.

• Matthew 23:13 But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.

I have listened to many people over the years who refused to go to church because of the actions of the people there. Yes, I know we are to follow Jesus and not have what my mother would call preacher religion or people religion. However, Jesus has us on earth to be His representatives. People should see the love of Christ through you. So, I will ask again, “Is there any evidence that you convict you in a court of law that you are a true Christian?” Examine your own self. Pray and ask Jesus to help you. Repent of any wrongdoing and start producing the fruit of the spirit by getting back connected to the true vine Jesus.
