The books of Enoch

The Book of Enoch was written before the flood. Yet there is all of this that is supposed to be the book of Enoch. Yes, James did quote from the book of Enoch. However, he lived a lot closer to the time of Enoch. Yes, it is more than possible that Noah took the book of Enoch on the Ark with him. Yes, it is possible that it was mostly preserved down through the years as the children of Israel was put into exile. However, look at how many different options that there is for this one book. This is just a scene shot of a few of the options. How can anyone be sure that the option that is picked is really the true translation of the real book of Enoch? There are reasons why it was never canonized.

Reasons why it was never canonized.

  1. It had already been rejected by the Hebrew Bible. Generally speaking, the books in the Hebrew Bible were canonized. Those books became the Old Testament in either the Catholic Bible or the Protestant Bible.
  2. Scholars generally agree that the Book of Enoch was composed by multiple authors over several centuries, which raises questions about its authenticity and credibility.
  3. The Book of Enoch is often regarded as an apocryphal or pseudepigraphal text, terms used to describe works with uncertain authorship or questionable origins.
  4. Jeremiah 1:12 (Amplified Bible) Then the Lord said to me, “You have seen well, for I am [actively] watching over My word to fulfill. Since God watches over his word, don’t you think that God would make sure that the books that are needed would be canonized. Canonization means that it is considered the inspired Word of God.
