📯 Why the 7th Trumpet Fits the Resurrection
A Study Page
🟦 1. The Bible Connects the Resurrection With a Trumpet
Three major New Testament passages describe the resurrection and gathering of God’s people—and all three explicitly involve a trumpet:
Matthew 24:31
Jesus says the elect are gathered “with a great sound of a trumpet.”
1 Corinthians 15:52
Paul says the resurrection happens “at the last trump.”
1 Thessalonians 4:16
Paul says the Lord descends “with the trump of God,” and the dead rise.
These are the only three passages that directly describe the resurrection event—and all three include a trumpet.
So the question becomes:
Which trumpet is the “last trumpet”?
🟧 2. Revelation Contains the Only Numbered Trumpet Series in the Bible
Revelation 8–11 presents seven trumpets, blown in order.
The 7th trumpet is:
- the final trumpet in Scripture
- the completion of God’s mystery
- the moment when the kingdom is proclaimed
- the moment when the dead are judged and the saints rewarded
This is resurrection language.
🟥 3. What Happens at the 7th Trumpet? (Revelation 11:15–18)
Here is what the 7th trumpet announces:
1. The Kingdom Arrives
“The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord…” (v. 15)
This is the moment Christ takes His throne.
2. The Dead Are Judged
“The time of the dead, that they should be judged…” (v. 18)
Judgment of the dead requires resurrection.
3. The Saints Are Rewarded
“And that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants…” (v. 18)
Rewards are given after resurrection (Luke 14:14).
4. God’s Mystery Is Finished
Revelation 10:7 says the 7th trumpet completes “the mystery of God.”
Paul defines the mystery as:
- the resurrection
- the transformation of the living
- the gathering of the saints
(1 Cor. 15:51–52; Eph. 3:3–6)
So the 7th trumpet completes the very mystery Paul says is fulfilled at the resurrection.
🟩 4. The 7th Trumpet Matches Every Resurrection Passage
Here is the alignment:
| Resurrection Passage | Key Feature | 7th Trumpet Match |
|---|---|---|
| Matthew 24:31 | Trumpet gathers the elect | Trumpet sounds, kingdom arrives |
| 1 Corinthians 15:52 | “Last trumpet” resurrection | 7th = last in the series |
| 1 Thessalonians 4:16 | Trump of God, dead rise | Dead judged, saints rewarded |
| Revelation 11:15–18 | Kingdom, resurrection, reward | All three occur at the 7th trumpet |
The parallels are exact.
🟨 5. The Feast of Trumpets Strengthens the Connection
The Feast of Trumpets (Yom Teruah):
- is the feast of trumpet blasts
- ends with the tekiah gedolah—the last great trumpet blast
- is associated in Jewish tradition with resurrection
- is linked to the opening of heavenly books and divine judgment
Revelation 11 includes:
- trumpet blast
- resurrection
- judgment
- kingdom proclamation
The prophetic imagery aligns perfectly.
🟫 6. The Exodus Pattern Also Points to a Final-Trumpet Deliverance
In Exodus:
- God’s people endure the plagues
- God protects them through judgment
- A final plague leads to deliverance
- They are brought out after the last judgment
In Revelation:
- God’s people endure tribulation
- God seals and protects them
- A final trumpet leads to resurrection
- They are gathered after the last judgment
The 7th trumpet is the Passover moment of the end times.
🟪 7. Why the 7th Trumpet Fits the Resurrection Better Than Any Other View
✔ It is the last trumpet in Scripture
✔ It includes resurrection, reward, and kingdom arrival
✔ It completes the “mystery” Paul ties to resurrection
✔ It matches Jesus’ trumpet-gathering in Matthew 24
✔ It aligns with the Feast of Trumpets
✔ It fits the Exodus pattern of final deliverance
✔ It is the climactic moment of Revelation
No other trumpet in Scripture carries all these features.
🌿 A Gentle Summary
The 7th trumpet fits the resurrection because it is the moment when:
- the kingdom arrives
- the dead are judged
- the saints are rewarded
- the mystery of God is completed
- the trumpet sounds
- the final deliverance occurs
It is the biblical convergence point where Jesus, Paul, and John all describe the same event from different angles.
