Easy Charoset Recipe for Passover

A bowl of Charoset, a traditional Passover dish made from apples, nuts, cinnamon, and honey, surrounded by apples, honey, and a glass of red wine, set on a textured tablecloth.

Charoset

Charoset is one of the most meaningful and symbolic dishes on the Passover table—a simple mixture of apples, nuts, cinnamon, honey, and wine that tells a story far bigger than its humble ingredients. Sweet and earthy, it represents both the mortar used by the Israelites in their slavery and the hope of God’s deliverance that carried them through.

This gentle blend is traditionally shared during the Seder meal, reminding us that even in seasons of hardship, the Lord is faithful to redeem and restore. With its bright apples, warm spices, and touch of sweetness, Charoset is a beautiful picture of how God brings joy and freedom out of bitterness and bondage.

Whether you’re preparing a full Seder or simply introducing your family to the flavors and stories of Scripture, this recipe is easy to make, child-friendly, and perfect for gathering around the table. It serves 10–12 people—just right for sharing with loved ones as you remember God’s mighty acts and His enduring grace.
