A reminder that screens cannot replace Scripture or discipleship
🌿 The Problem
Children’s Christian programming can be a blessing — it introduces Bible stories, memory verses, and faith concepts in a fun way. But it also carries a hidden danger:
Many shows simplify, distort, or even misrepresent Scripture.
Not out of malice — but because entertainment and accuracy don’t always mix.
When a cartoon changes the story “to make it fun,” a child doesn’t know the difference.
But the parent does.
And God holds parents, not TV shows, responsible for teaching truth.
🌿 The Warning
Do not assume that Christian programming is biblically accurate.
Do not assume it teaches the whole truth.
Do not assume it forms your child’s faith the way Scripture does.
Even well‑meaning shows can:
- Add details the Bible never says
- Remove the hard parts that matter
- Turn miracles into magic tricks
- Turn prophets into comedians
- Turn sin into silliness
- Turn God into a cartoon character
When children grow up and discover the real Bible doesn’t match the cartoon version, they often feel confused — or misled.
That is why parents must be the primary teachers of Scripture, not the television.
🌿 The Reminder
Your child needs you more than they need a show.
They need:
- your voice reading Scripture
- your explanations of God’s character
- your correction when something on TV is wrong
- your conversations about what the Bible actually says
- your example of faith lived out in real life
Christian programming can support your teaching —
but it cannot replace it.
God never commanded the TV to teach your children.
He commanded you.
🌿 A Simple Guideline for Parents
Use this rule in your home:
“The TV may entertain, but the Bible teaches.”
Let Christian shows be background tools, not spiritual authorities.
