Delicious Fortune Cookies Recipe with Sample Fortunes
FORTUNE COOKIES
This could be great for the Lunar New Year also known as the Chinese New Year. Just. Remember that the fortunes are just for fun. Do not think these cookies can tell the future are anything else.
Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup butter or margarine
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
- 3 eggs
- I cup sifted flour
- 60 intriguing fortunes written on small strips of paper
Directions:
- Soften the butter by setting it out on the counter for a few minutes and then mashing it with a fork.
- In a mixing bowl put sugar and butter and blend together until fluffy.
- Add vanilla. Then add eggs to the mixture, one at a time. Beat well after adding each egg.
- Then add flour and beat thoroughly.
- Heat the oven to 375°. Grease the cookie sheets, then dust lightly with flour.
- Drop rounded teaspoons of dough at least 2 inches apart on each sheet.
- Bake for 20 minutes and remove.
- With a wide spatula, loosen each cookie from the sheet. Place a folded fortune on each cookie.
- While putting a fortune inside each cookie keep the sheet warm. This will make cookies easier to work with.
- Gently fold the cookies in half with the fortune inside. Pinch edges together, then twist in the
centers.
Makes 60 fortune cookies.
