The Bible

• The Bible is the infallible Word of God and the authority for salvation and Christian living. This means that we believe the whole Bible is true and worth studying.
  • 2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

About God

• There is one God, who eternally exists in the GodHead.
  • Colossians 2:8-10
    • Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
    • For in him (Jesus) dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
    • And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
  • 1 John 5:7
    • For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word (Jesus), and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
  • John 1:1
    • In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
  • John 1:14  
    • And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
  • Deuteronomy 6:4-5
    • Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord:
    • And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
  • Ephesians 4:4-6
    • There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
    • One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
    • One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
  • 1 Timothy 3:16
    • And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

About Sin and Salvation

• Everyone has sinned and needs salvation. Salvation comes by grace through faith based on the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
  • Romans 3:23-25
    • For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
    • Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
    • Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
  • Romans 6:23
    •  For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
  • Ephesians 2:8-9
    • For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
    • Not of works, lest any man should boast.
  • Acts 2:38-39
    • Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
    • For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

About Baptism

• Baptist involves water and the Holy Ghost. Baptism is the part of the new birth. Water Baptism is the public demonstration and acknowledgement of what has happened Spiritually.
  • Mark 1:6-8
    • And John was clothed with camel’s hair, and with a girdle of a skin about his loins; and he did eat locusts and wild honey; And preached, saying, There cometh one mightier than I after me, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose. I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.
  • John 3:5-7
    • Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
    • That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
    • Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

Christian Living

• As Christians, we are to love God and others.
  • Matthew 22:37-40
    • Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
    • This is the first and great commandment.
    • And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
    • On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
  • John 13:34-35
    • A new commandment I (Jesus) give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
    • By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
  • 1 John 4:19-20
    • We love him (God), because he first loved us.
    • If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?
    • And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.
• We should live a holy life inwardly and outwardly.
  • Exodus 19:6
    • And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.
  • 1 Peter 2:9
    • But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;
  • 1 Peter 1:15-16
    • But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
    • Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
  • Romans 12:1
    • I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
  • 2 Corinthians 7:1
    • Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
  • Hebrews 12:14
    • Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
  • 1 Corinthians 6:19
    • What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
      • This means that your body is the temple of God.
  • Luke 6:45
    • A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
      • This means that what is truly in your heart will eventually come out in your speech, dress, actions, behavior, and attitude.
• Forgiving one another
  • Ephesians 4:32
    • And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
  • Matthew 6:15
    • But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
• We should worship God.
  • Psalm 150:6
    • Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.
  • Psalm 100:4
    • Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
  • Ephesians 5:19
    • Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
  • Colossians 3:16
    • Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

About the Future

• Jesus Christ is coming again to get His church.
  • 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17
    • For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
    • Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
• In the end will be the final resurrection and the final judgment. The righteous will inherit eternal life, and the unrighteous eternal death.
  • John 3:15-16
    • That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
    • For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
  • Revelation 20:11-15
    •  And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
    • And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
    • And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
    • And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
    • And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
