Easy Heart-Shaped Strawberry Meringues
STRAWBERRY MERINGUES
Ingredients:
- 1 16oz package frozen strawberries
- 1¼ teaspoon salt
- 1½ teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1 cup sugar
- ½ pint heavy whipping cream
- cooking oil for greasing the pan
Directions:
- Heat the oven to 250°,
- Take strawberries from the freezer and thaw.
- Break each egg open and separate the white part from the yellow yolk.
- Put all the egg whites in a mixing bowl.
- When egg whites reach room temperature, add salt and cream of tartar.
- Beat this mixture until almost stiff. Slowly stir in 3/4 cup of sugar.

- Spoon some batter onto each heart and mold it into the shape of the heart.
- Leave the sides higher than the center so that you have heart-shaped shells.
- Bake for 1 hour. Let stand in a turned off oven (door closed) at least 10 minutes.
- Chop the thawed strawberries into tiny slices and set aside.
- Pour the cream into a mixing bowl.
- Beat, slowly adding 1/4 cup sugar.
- Continue beating until the cream is stiff enough to stand in peaks.
- Take the shells from the oven.
- When cool, fill the center of each with chopped strawberries.
- Cover with whipped cream.
