CABBAGE BEEF SOUP
Ingredients:
- 1/2 pounds stew meat, chopped
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 4-5 medium carrots, sliced
- 1 cup chopped cabbage
- Pinch of oregano
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 (20 oz can) Italian style tomatoes
- 1 beef bouillon cube
Directions:
- Place meat in 3-quart pot and cover with cold water.
- Add salt, pepper, and bay leaves.
- Bring to boil; then turn heat to low.
- Add celery, onion, carrots, and cabbage.
- Simmer 2-1/2 hours or until meat is tender.
- Remove bay leaves.
- Cut meat into small pieces and return to pot.
- Add oregano, tomatoes, Worcestershire sauce, and bouillon cube.
- Simmer 30 minutes.
- Serve.
