Keep Eyes on Christ During Confusion

When the world feels noisy, uncertain, or frightening, Jesus gives His people one clear instruction: look at Him.
Not at the storm, not at the rumor, not at the spectacle — but at the Savior.

1. The Example of Peter

When Peter stepped out of the boat, he walked on water — until he looked at the wind.

“But when he saw the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, ‘Lord, save me!’” — Matthew 14:30

The moment Peter’s eyes left Jesus, fear took over.
The same happens to us when we fix our attention on confusion instead of Christ.

Lesson:
Faith doesn’t remove the storm; it keeps us steady through it.

2. Jesus Is the Anchor of Peace

The Bible says:

“You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You.” — Isaiah 26:3

Peace doesn’t come from understanding everything.
It comes from trusting the One who does.

When reports, rumors, or strange events swirl around us, our peace is found in staying focused on Jesus — His Word, His character, His promises.

3. The Shepherd’s Voice Still Speaks

Jesus said:

“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.” — John 10:27

Even in chaos, His voice is calm and clear.
He doesn’t shout over the noise — He calls us closer.

When confusion rises, the right response is not to chase answers but to draw near to the Shepherd.

4. Practical Steps for Staying Focused

  • Pause and pray — before reacting, breathe and ask for His peace.
  • Read Scripture daily — truth steadies the heart.
  • Worship — praise shifts attention from fear to faith.
  • Encourage others — peace multiplies when shared.
  • Rest in His sovereignty — He is not confused, and He is not surprised.

5. Closing Reflection

When confusion fills the air, remember:
Jesus never told His followers to understand everything — He told them to trust Him in everything.

“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.” — John 14:1

Keep your eyes on Christ.
He is the same yesterday, today, and forever — and His light still shines through every storm.
