The Mystery of the Hartness Museum: A Dino Adventure

  • Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.
  • Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly.
  • He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.
  •  His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron.
  • He is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him.
  • Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.
  • He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens.
  • The shady trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about.
  • Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth.
  • He taketh it with his eyes: his nose pierceth through snares.
    • Job 40:15-24 (KJV)

Chapter 1 The Adventure begin

There is something towering above me on this night. The Hartness museum of Natural history has been closed since 2013. People whisper that dino ghosts hunt it, but Diane and I were not scared. We finally worked up the courage to go inside. So, we slip into the basement though a half -open mold covered window. Slowly our eyes adjusted to the dark, and we could see what was in the shadows: a velociraptor skull and a lift size model of a T. Rex. Next to me sit a large pirates’ trunk with a Skull painted on it lid.
Slowly I pry it open and I stick my hand inside. Suddenly, Diane and I were sucked inside and flying through the air at what I think could be the speed of light in total darkness. Then Diane asked, “Jacob are we slowing down? Or is it just me?” I answered, “I don’t know about that, but I see a light.” Diane replied, “I hope so Jacob.” No, Really, I see a light. Suddenly I start to hear something that sounds like a roar. Diane grabs my hand and holds on tight.

Chapter 2 The Near Escape

Finally, Jacob and I stop flying through the air. Jacob and I drop down in a little heap of grass. Jacob, where are we? when are we? I wish I could tell you sis just stay near me.

Suddenly I feel a thud that rocks the ground. Jacob? I feel it, Diane. I think it’s getting louder. And then we see it – a 9-foot-tall Tyrannosaurus rex. Its teeth look
to be as big as mangos, its claw the Size of Tangs, Jacob! I see it! It was coming our way. What do we do Jacob? We run like a Cheetah Diane. To that heap of grass over there. Just stay close to me. We then ran to the heap of grass. As the T. rex was
Closing in, the ground begins to Rock violently. Closer and Closer it came.
Scared, we were knocked to our knees. Jacob, I know I know.
Scared, we looked for new place to take cover. Then I saw it a large mound. Diane, we need to get behind it. Okay. So, we ran to the ran to the mound. We got behind it just in time. The T. rex is nearby. Jacob and I held our breath. The T. rex pauses
near our hiding place and then went on pass the mound.

It’s gone Diane. Good I was scared. It okay now, Diane. We have gotten away.
