The Power of Praise: Our Lord’s Goodness

Oh Lord you are so good to us. You are our Lord, and we are your people. You are God above all gods. You oh Lord saves us from our worldly sins. Oh Lord, I am saved by your amazing grace. You died but rose on high. You created all. Oh, how I wish that I was there when you walked among men.

Oh, when I see a rose, I remember you the Rose of Sharon. When I see the red wood and the evergreen tree I think of you. You are so strong. When I think of the roaring sea, I remember that you are all powerful.

Father of all fathers. How you call children to your fold. As David wrote in the Psalms, you are worthy of all our praise. Oh Lord you are our God, and we are your people. You tell us of you word in the stars above. The stars you made, oh Lord, tell us of your word. Oh God, we praise you. You are an amazing Lord, Oh God.

Cinquain Poetry: Crafting Vivid Imagery in Words

Look at this kind of poem. It is called a cinquain. A Cinquain paints a picture in your mind by using words that tell how something looks, feels, sounds, tastes, or smells. When you read this poem, can you see the horses in your mind?

Oh, Little Star in the Big Sky

Oh, little star in the big sky above the world so high, you twinkle like a diamond, so pretty, in the sky. You always twinkle so bright, with your friends in the big night sky.

Oh, when we look up, we can see you with your star friends and the moon in the night sky. You are shiny and diamond like.

Oh, I wonder what you are. I like you little star.

Oh, little star oh little star I like you. You are not just in the sky, you make constellations, like Cygnus, the swan, and the Lyra, the harp. There are many other constellations, but those two I like.

Oh, little star in the big nighttime sky you and your friends are so beautiful in the nighttime sky.

Understanding Saint Patrick’s Day: History and Traditions

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day

There is a special day, it is called Saint Patrick’s Day. It is celebrated with leprechauns, shamrocks, shamrock cookies, gold coins, and the color green, but that is not what Saint Patrick’s Day is all about. Well, it sort of is, but not how they do it.

The color green represents the new growth in Jesus, the shamrock is green. Oh, the leprechauns and the gold coins got in Saint Patrick’s Day all because of the stories of Ireland.

Saint Patrick was kidnapped by Vikings from Ireland. He didn’t know Jesus when he was a slave in captivity, but Jesus did not forget him. No, God did not. Jesus had a plan for him. Oh, the poor lad, Patrick, was to work with sheep. Patrick remembered his parents’ teachings. He prayed for God’s help each day. So, the Viking leader called for Patrick, because since he had been there the sheep flock was growing in numbers. They asked him many questions, one of them was who was his gods. Oh the lad answered saying that he had only one God, who is merciful, forgiving, and can heal. The leader’s wife asked if he could heal her son, but the priest did not like Patrick. The leader and his wife wanted Patrick to try and heal their son, but the priest said no. Patrick prayed for the leader’s son. The priest put him back to work, but the leader’s son walked to his dad. One night Patrick ran away to a boat to get home. Oh, when he got home, he went to a school to learn more about God.

Patrick was brave to go back to the land of his captivity. He was the 1st missionary not to be killed in for the gods of Ireland. He told them of Jesus, so the land of Ireland began to look different. Patrick was very brave.

Oh, the Son of the Viking leader, that God through Patrick had healed, became Patrick’s helper. Saint Patrick was very brave to go back. They normally killed all slaves who ran away, but oh not Patrick. Saint Patrick kept telling more people of Ireland. Saint Patrick died on March 17th. We now remember him on March 17th.

Springtime Violets: A Dance of Colors

The Little Violet

Little violets, little violets how beautiful you are. In springtime lovely weather when your buds are blooming and letting out the beautifulness. When you and the rose are dancing together in springtime wind, and the rose is as beautiful as you are dancing in the springtime winds.

Trust in God: Life Lessons from a Penny

The Penny Sayings

Oh, the little penny is the smallest of all the money, but it’s the one that has three sayings. All of us may know one of the three sayings, “find a penny, pick it up and all day long have good luck”. But what about the other two? Well one of the other says, “a penny saved is a penny earned” and the other one says, “Find a penny, pick it up and remember that In God We Trust”. Today some of us forget to trust in God to provide for our needs.

A penny helps us to remember to trust in God and reminds us that a penny saved is a penny earned. On the penny it says, “In God We Trust”, but today people do not trust. They do not have faith in God in today’s world. There are some people that still have faith in God, but not many. Don’t get mixed up, “In God We Trust” does not mean we should trust the penny. We should trust in God, not the penny. The penny helps us to remember that in God we trust, and a penny saved is a saved is a penny earned. That means when you save your penny you get to keep it.

Celebrating the Love of Grandparents

God Made Grandparents to Care

Each of us has grandparents who care for us and love us. Grandmas tell us how to bake cookies and pies. Grandmas help us learn to read, write, and draw. We bring pictures, cookies, and flowers to them. They are there when we need them. We love our grandmas.

There are not just grandmas; there are grandpas, too. They take us on camping trips and tells us how to row boats and how to fish.

Jesus knew we needed Grandparents, and he made them for us. They care for us, and we care for them. We love each other and Jesus does too.

Horses: God’s Incredible Creations in the Wild

The picture shows beautiful horses running free.

 Jesus Made the Horses

Jesus made horses to run free like the beautiful Mustangs and the Appaloosas. They are so strong and beautiful. There are not just appaloosas and mustangs; there are quarter horses and paints. At first, they were all wild, but now they are trained for us to ride. Some are still running free and in the wild. God above said, “All things are good”.
The horse is a symbol of power. It is a wonderful creation of God, that God made. That is why the horse is my favorite animal. Oh, I know that there are a lot more types of horses than mustangs, appaloosas, quarter horses, and paints, but these four you should know.

The Story of Saint Valentine and His Legacy

Happy Valentine’s Day!

There is a special day it called Valentine’s Day. It is when we give gifts and cards to our friends, to show we care for them. Valentine’s Day is a great day because it’s a day to show we care. We have parties with heart shaped cookies with red icing on them. Valentine’s Day colors are red, pink, and white. My favorite part is to help people. We sometime learn to say friend in another language and or just another way. Here is a way I like to say it, amigo, ami, buds, and chum; we will be friends forever no matter what comes.

Oh, Valentine’s Day was not aways happy. Saint Valentine is remembered on Valentine Day. He was killed by a king, but I am getting ahead of myself. Saint Valentine was a good man. He helped people get married. Oh, he did miracles. he healed a blind girl, the daughter of a guard. Saint Valentine told the guard about Jesus. The guard asked if he could heal his daughter and tell her about Jesus and heaven above. So, Saint Valentine did both. Saint Valentine went in and out of jail all because he told people about Jesus. Saint Valentine fell in love with the guard’s daughter, but the mean king did not like him. So, he was put to death. However, he had wrote a letter to his love, the guard’s daughter. Saint Valentine died on February 14th. So, we remember him on February 14th. Saint Valentine gave to people, and he helped people before he died. He gave little hearts to people to remind them of their faith in God. So now we give cards to our friends to remember him and his faith in God and how he helped others on Valentine’s Day.

Snowflakes, Dancers, and White Roses: A Poetic Journey

The picture shows a snowflake

Little snowflake oh how swiftly you are like a swan.

The Picture shows a white swan on a lake.

How graceful you are like a dancer dancing in the moonlight.

The picture shows a dancer dancing in the moon light,

You are as white as a beautiful pale white rose.

The picture shows a white rose.

How beautiful you are snowflake.
