Delicious Chocolate Coated Easter Eggs Recipe

Chocolate coated EASTER EGGS

Ingredients:

  • 2 sticks (8 ounces) butter
  • 1 8-ounce package cream cheese
  • 3 1-pound boxes confectioners’ sugar
  • 8 ounces semisweet chocolate
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 2-inch square food grade paraffin wax (see note at the bottom)
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla flavoring

Directions:

  1. Let butter and cream cheese come to room temperature.
  2. Put them in a large bowl and mix them together.
  3. Slowly add the sugar until well blended.
  4. Shape this mixture into small eggs about the size of a teaspoon.
  5. Store in refrigerator for at least an hour.
  6. Put water in the bottom of a double boiler and bring to a boil.
  7. Place chocolate, 1 tablespoon butter, paraffin, and vanilla flavoring in the top of the double boiler.
  8. Let this mixture melt over the boiling water, stirring well.
  9. Dip each chilled egg into the mixture.
  10. Put coated eggs back in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes.
    • Make about 100 delicious small Easter eggs.


FOR GOODNESS SAKE! Put nutritious surprises in the eggs.

  • Chop up 4 ounces seedless raisins and 2 ounces unblanched almonds and add them to the butter
    and cream cheese mixture.

Note:

  • Paraffin is a hydrocarbon that is made when crude oil is processed into petroleum products. This synthetically developed byproduct has a lot of utility when it comes to making desserts, candies, skincare products and so much more.
  • Food grade paraffin is safe for human consumption and is widely used in the food industry. Paraffin, due to its shiny nature, is often used for coating chocolates and other cocoa products.
