Peter and Polly (in Winter)

PETER AND POLLY

Peter Howe is a little boy. Polly is his sister. She is older than Peter.

They live in a white house. The house is on a hill. It is not in the city. It is in the country.

There are no houses close about it. But there are trees and fields around it.

In summer these fields are green. In winter the snow covers them.

The fields and the hills are as white as the house. Then there is fun playing in the snow.

Peter likes to watch the snowflakes. He calls them “white butterflies.” But he knows what they are.

His friend, the Story Lady, told him. They are just frozen clouds.

Peter said to her, “I think they are prettier than raindrops. They can sail about in the air, too. Raindrops cannot. I like winter better than summer.”

“It will be winter soon, Peter,” said the Story Lady. “But many things must happen first.

“The birds must fly away. The leaves must turn red and yellow. Then they will fall and you can rake them into heaps. We will go to the woods for nuts.

“All these things will happen before winter comes.”

“Yes,” said Peter. “And my grandmother must knit me some thick stockings. And my father must buy me a winter coat. Grandmother must knit some stockings for Wag-wag, too.”

“But Wag-wag is a dog, Peter. Dogs do not need stockings.”

“My dog does,” said Peter. “He needs a coat, too. His hair is short. It will not keep him warm. I shall ask father to buy him a coat.”

“Do, Peter,” said the Story Lady. “It is good to be kind to dogs. And when Wag-wag wears his coat and stockings, bring him to see me. I will take his picture.”

Adventure Camping Trip: Dan and Henry’s Fun Experience

One day, Dan and Henry went on a fun camping trip. They packed their Blue Backpacks and started out.

When they get there, they get out of the car and run to set up camp. After that, they went for a bike ride in the woods. Dan saw a deer, and Henry saw a Blue Jay. When they got back, they started getting wood to build a fire.

That night Dan and Henry ate campfire cooked potatoes, and s’mores. After that, Henry put out the fire and went inside the tent with Dan.

That night, they heard a sound. Dan was scared. Henry, don’t go out. It could be a bear. Don’t worry, Dan. I will peak out. Henry peaked out of the tent door only a little to see what it was. Was it a bear? Then Dan peaked out. But after Dan, I saw it he said “Henry, get my Flashlight”. Henry got it, and handed it to Dan.

Dan, turn it on. After that he laughed. Henry asks, “what is it?’ Come on come out of the tent. I will show, you.”

Dan showed Henry what it was. They laughed. It was two dogs.

Dan lights the fire while Henry called the dogs. Dan gives the dogs each a peanut butter cracker. The dogs had no collars. Dan and Henry kept the dogs. It was a wonderful camping trip. That they will not forget, Dan and Henry named the dogs, Roxie and Bridget.

In this story I am remembering the 1st dog I had, Roxie, so I name one of the dogs after her, the other dog is the 2nd dog that we have now. My family and I got Bridget just before Roxie died. So, let’s remember Roxie and honor Bridget.

Joyful Days at the Rainbow Playground

There is a playground where all the children play. They all are different, yes, they know but they also know God loves to see them all play. Jesus loves the children of the world. He loves to see them play all day on the swing that flies up so high. On the seesaw and on the monkey bars they play so happily.

Playground by Bell

The playground is so pretty like a rainbow in the sky. The playground is full of color all around. Every color that you know. The children don’t just play but read to their dogs. Jesus loves to see them play and be happy. On the slide and merry-go-round. They play so happily because the children know that God loves all of them

The children love to run around playing happily in the sun all day long on the rainbow playground. They play because they know that God loves them so.
