When we hear reports about things in the sky, government documents, or anything unusual that stirs curiosity or fear, the Bible gives us a steady path. God never leaves His people without instructions. Jesus knew we would live in a world full of rumors, signs, noise, and confusion—and He told us exactly how to respond.
This page gathers those instructions so we can walk in peace, not panic.
1. Jesus said: Do not be troubled
When the disciples asked Jesus about the end of the age, He didn’t begin with signs.
He began with a command for the heart:
“See that you are not troubled.” — Matthew 24:6
Jesus knew we would hear things—wars, rumors, strange events, frightening reports.
His first instruction is not to analyze the news, but to guard our peace.
Fear is not from God.
Confusion is not from God.
Panic is not from God.
If something we hear makes our heart race, Jesus invites us to step back and breathe in His peace.
2. Jesus said: Do not be deceived
Before He mentioned any signs, Jesus warned:
“Take heed that no one deceives you.” — Matthew 24:4
This means:
- Not every report is true
- Not every headline is accurate
- Not every “expert” knows what they’re talking about
- Not every scary thing is a sign from God
Jesus tells us to stay awake spiritually—not gullible, not fearful, not tossed around by every rumor.
3. Jesus said: Watch and pray
Whenever something unusual happens, Jesus gives us a simple response:
“Watch and pray.” — Matthew 26:41
Watching means paying attention with wisdom, not obsession.
Praying means turning our attention back to God, not the news cycle.
Prayer keeps our hearts steady.
Watching keeps our minds clear.
Together, they keep us from drifting into fear or speculation.
4. The Bible says: Test everything
Paul gives us a practical tool:
“Test all things; hold fast what is good.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:21
This means:
- Don’t accept every claim
- Don’t reject everything either
- Bring it before God
- Compare it with Scripture
- Use discernment
If something doesn’t line up with God’s character, God’s Word, or God’s peace, we don’t hold onto it.
5. The Bible says: God is not the author of confusion
When information feels overwhelming or chaotic:
“God is not the author of confusion, but of peace.” — 1 Corinthians 14:33
Confusion is a sign to slow down.
Peace is a sign that we’re listening to the right voice.
6. Jesus said: My sheep hear My voice
In a world full of noise, Jesus promises:
“My sheep hear My voice… and they follow Me.” — John 10:27
This means:
- We don’t have to fear being misled
- We don’t have to chase every rumor
- We don’t have to understand everything happening in the world
Our job is simple:
Stay close to the Shepherd.
He leads.
We follow.
He protects.
We rest.
7. What we do when we hear something strange or scary
Here is the biblical pattern:
A. Pause
Don’t react emotionally.
B. Pray
Ask God for wisdom and peace.
C. Test it
Does it align with Scripture?
Does it produce peace or fear?
D. Stay steady
Jesus told us these things would happen so we wouldn’t be shaken.
E. Keep doing what He told us to do
Love God.
Love people.
Stay faithful.
Stay watchful.
Stay peaceful.
8. The world may shake, but God’s people don’t have to
Jesus never told His followers to panic.
He never told us to chase every rumor.
He never told us to fear the unknown.
He told us to:
- Stand firm
- Stay awake
- Stay calm
- Stay faithful
- Keep our eyes on Him
No matter what governments release, what the news reports, or what people speculate, Jesus remains the same yesterday, today, and forever.
And His instructions have not changed.
