🌾 1. Grains Help Us Grow
Grains are foods like bread, rice, pasta, and tortillas.
They give our bodies energy so we can run, play, learn, and grow.
A long time ago, people ate even more bread than we do today. Bread was one of the most important foods they had.
🍞 2. Bread in Jesus’ Time
In Jesus’ day, almost everyone ate bread every single day.
Because bread was so important, Jesus used it to teach something special.
Jesus said:
“I am the bread of life.”
This means Jesus gives our hearts what bread gives our bodies—strength, life, and everything we need.
🌤️ 3. Manna From Heaven
When the Israelites traveled through the wilderness, God sent them manna, a special bread from heaven.
- They picked it up every morning.
- They gathered extra on the sixth day so they could rest on the Sabbath.
Jesus reminded the people of this miracle and said:
“I am the bread that came down from heaven.”
He was telling them that He is God’s gift to us.
✝️ 4. Jesus Gives Us Spiritual Bread
Jesus also said:
“I am the living bread… whoever eats this bread will live forever.”
This doesn’t mean we take a bite out of Jesus.
It means we take His words into our hearts.
When we read the Bible, learn His teachings, and follow Him, it’s like our hearts are eating good, healthy bread.
📖 5. Eating the Word
The Bible says Jesus is the Word of God.
So when we read the Bible, we are feeding our hearts with His truth.
At the Last Supper, Jesus broke bread and said:
“Take, eat: this is my body.”
He was teaching His friends that following Him would give them life forever.
🌅 6. Jesus Is Our Daily Bread
Just like we need food every day, we need Jesus every day too.
He gives us:
- Food for our bodies
- And food for our hearts
And He never changes. He is always with us.
