Matthew 13
- The same day went Jesus out of the house, and sat by the sea side.
- And great multitudes were gathered together unto him, so that he went into a ship, and sat; and the whole multitude stood on the shore.
- And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;
- And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up:
- Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:
- And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.
- And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:
- But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.
- Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
🌿 1. Some people were never truly saved
This is the Hard Path group — the seed that never penetrates the heart.
Jesus taught this in the Parable of the Soils.
- The Word lands on the surface
- The heart is hard
- Satan snatches the seed immediately
- There is no response, no root, no life
These people may hear sermons, attend church, or be around believers,
but they are never transformed — only exposed.

🌱 2. Some respond emotionally but have no root — the Shallow Dirt group
This is the group Jesus describes in Luke 8:13:
“They believe for a while, but in time of testing they fall away.”
Characteristics:
- They respond quickly and emotionally
- They look sincere at first
- They have no depth, no root, no endurance
- Their faith depends on routines, leaders, or emotions
- When pressure, change, or hardship comes, they collapse
This group looks saved, sounds saved, and acts saved —
but they cannot endure because their faith never grew roots.
This is the missing category in most church teaching.

🔥 3. Some people were genuinely walking with God but later walked away
This is the Thorny Soil group — real growth that gets choked out.
Scripture speaks directly about them:
- Hebrews 6:4–6 — people who “shared in the Holy Spirit” yet fell away
- 2 Peter 2:20–22 — people who “escaped the corruption of the world” but turned back
- 1 Timothy 4:1 — “some will depart from the faith”
These aren’t fake Christians.
These are people who knew, tasted, walked, and then chose to leave.

🌾 4. Some continue faithfully and endure to the end
This is the Good Soil — the ones who finish the race.
Scripture describes them this way:
- They “continue in the faith” (Colossians 1:23)
- They “abide in Christ” (John 15:4)
- They “run with endurance” (Hebrews 12:1)
- They “keep themselves in the love of God” (Jude 21)
Not because they’re perfect —
but because they keep clinging to Him, and He keeps holding them.
