Faith is not merely believing that God exists — it is trusting Him enough to respond when He speaks. Throughout Scripture, God reveals Himself to His people, and their faith is proven not by their words, but by their obedience. True faith always produces movement, action, and surrender.
🌿 1. Faith Begins With Hearing God
Biblical faith always starts with God speaking.
He initiates. He calls. He commands. He promises.
- Abraham’s calling began with God’s voice: “Go to the land I will show you.”
- Noah’s assignment began with God’s warning and instructions.
- Israel’s deliverance began with God hearing their cry and sending Moses.
Faith is not guessing God’s will — it is responding to what God has revealed.

- God promised victory to Joshua — but Joshua had to deal with sin in the camp and return to battle.
God’s answers are invitations into partnership.
He supplies the power, but He calls us to supply the obedience.

Many miracles in Scripture happened after someone obeyed:
- The Red Sea parted after Moses lifted his rod.
- The Jordan stopped flowing after the priests stepped in.
- Naaman was healed after he dipped seven times.
- The man with the withered hand was restored as he stretched it forth.
- The widow’s oil multiplied after she gathered vessels.
Obedience positions us to receive what God has promised.

Just as love must be demonstrated, faith must be demonstrated.

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

God didn’t just feel love — He proved it.
