đŸŒŒ Children’s Adornment Chart

God loves it when our hearts are kind, gentle, and peaceful. The Bible tells us that what matters most is not fancy decorations but having a beautiful heart.

The Scripture that guides this is:

“Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning
but let it be the hidden man of the heart
a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.” — 1 Peter 3:3–4

“
let your beauty come from the inside
a gentle and quiet spirit is very precious to God.” — 1 Peter 3:3–4 (kid‑friendly wording)

That means it’s okay to wear pretty things — bows, colors, and fun hairstyles — as long as we choose things that are simple, comfy, and not for showing off. God wants us to shine with kindness, not sparkles.

This chart helps kids learn the difference between good choices that keep our hearts peaceful and not‑so‑good choices that are too showy or uncomfortable.

“What kinds of decorations are okay?”

✅ Good Choices

(Pretty, simple, peaceful)

  • Small bows or clips — cute, light, and easy to wear
  • Fun colors — ribbons, strings, or beads that make you smile
  • Handmade things — yarn, friendship‑bracelet strings, tiny crafts
  • Comfortable styles — braids, ponytails, buns that don’t hurt
  • Special‑day extras — weddings, birthdays, holidays
  • Neat and tidy hair — brushed, clean, and out of your face

Simple rule:

If it’s comfy, simple, and makes you kind — it’s good.

❌ Not‑So‑Good Choices

(Showy, painful, or too much)

  • Heavy things — big clips, tight elastics, or anything that hurts
  • Too many sparkles — when the goal is to get everyone to look at you
  • Grown‑up styles — fancy, adult‑type hair meant to impress
  • Painful styles — too tight, too tall, or too complicated
  • Trying to “out‑shine” others — wearing things just to be the “prettiest”
  • Expensive or fancy stuff — things meant to show off money

Simple rule:

If it hurts, is too fancy, or is meant to show off — it’s not good.

🌟 Easy Way to Remember

“Pretty is fine. Proud is not.”
“Simple is fine. Showy is not.”
“Joyful is fine. Painful is not.”

This keeps the focus on the heart, not the rules.
