šŸ‹šŸ’š Lemon‑Lime Sherbet Recipe

This lemon‑lime sherbet is a hit. People love its bright, zesty flavor because it tastes just like the classic lemon‑lime sodas and ice creams we grew up with. Refreshing, tangy, and perfect for summer, it’s an ideal treat for a birthday party or a casual get‑together with friends.

What you need

  • 1 cup lemon juice (fresh or bottled)
  • 1 cup lime juice
  • 2 cups whole milk or half‑and‑half
  • 1 ½ cups sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 1 tablespoon lime zest
  • A drop or two of yellow or green food coloring (optional)

What to do

  1. Mix the citrus base — whisk lemon juice, lime juice, sugar, and both zests until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Add the milk — slowly pour in the milk while whisking. (This keeps it smooth.)
  3. Chill the mixture — refrigerate for 1–2 hours.
  4. Freeze — pour into a freezer‑safe container. Stir every 20–30 minutes until thick, then let it freeze solid.
  5. Soften before scooping — let it sit out 5–10 minutes.
