The amount of canned food you can get from a given quantity of produce depends on the quality, maturity, variety, and size of the fruit or vegetable, whether it is whole, in halves, or in slices, or whether it is packed raw or hot. Melting Chocolate Oatmeal coconut flakes bars

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups chocolate chips
  • 2/3 cup canned coconut milk
  • 1 cup Oats
  • 1 1/2 cup Raisins
  • 3/4 cup peanut butter cereal
  • 1/2 cup coconut flakes

Directions:

  1. In a double boiler melt chocolate chips over medium heat. When it starts to melt, pour in coconut milk.
  2. When all of it is almost melted put in a little at a time of oatmeal and raisins, mix well.
  3. When melted, put in the peanut butter cereal, mix in well.
  4. Grease an 8 by 8-inch pan and then pour the melted mixture into the pan.
  5. Sprinkle coconut flakes on top and then fold into the mixture.
  6. Place it in the refrigerator for about an hour, but if you can’t wait about 40 minutes.

30-Minute Ground Beef Pizza Roll Recipe

Prep Time: 30 min. Total Time: 1 hour 5 min. (incl. cooling)/Makes: 6 servings.

What You Need

  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 4 slices Bacon, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1/2 lb. (8 oz.) Velveeta cut into 1/2-inch cubes
  • 1 pkg. (13.8 oz.) refrigerated pizza crust

Directions:

  1. HEAT oven to 400°F.
  2. Brown ground beef with bacon and onions in large skillet on medium-high heat; drain.
  3. Return meat mixture to skillet.
  4. Add VELVEETA; cook 5 min. or until melted, stirring frequently. Cool 10 min.
  5. Unoll pizza dough onto baking sheet sprayed with cooking spray.
  6. Press into 15×8-inch rectangle; top with meat mixture. Roll up, starting at one long side.
  7. Rearrange if necessary so roll is seam-side down.
  8. BAKE 20 to 25 min, or until golden brown.

Easy Homemade Vanilla Pudding Recipe

Who doesn’t like vanilla pudding? It is a wonderful dessert by itself. It can also in the making of other desserts. However, most of the pudding mixes sold in the stores in the United States have many additives. Here is an easy recipe for making homemade vanilla pudding.

Prep: 10 minutes  Cook: 20 minutes
Chill: 4 hours  Makes: 4 servings

Ingredients:

  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 3 cups whole milk or reduced-fat (2%) milk
  • 4 egg yolks, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon butter or margarine
  • 1½ teaspoons vanilla
  • Optional toppings: caramel, bananas, cinnamon

Directions:

  1. In a saucepan combine sugar and cornstarch.
  2. Stir in milk.
  3. Cook and stir over medium heat until thickened and bubbly.
  4. Cook and stir for 2 minutes more.
  5. Remove from heat.
  6. Gradually stir 1 cup of the milk mixture into egg yolks.
  7. Add egg mixture to milk mixture in saucepan.
  8. Bring to a gentle boil; reduce heat.
  9. Cook and stir for 2 minutes. Remove from heat.
  10. Stir in butter and vanilla.
  11. Pour pudding into a bowl.
  12. Cover surface with plastic wrap (this keeps a film from forming.)
  13. Serve warm or cold. (Do not stir during chilling)
  14. Add any toppings you may want.

Quick and Easy Fried Mushrooms Recipe

Fried Mushrooms can be a great addition to many meals. They are quick and easy to make.
Ingredients:

  • 1/2 lb. mushrooms fresh or canned.
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 teaspoon minced parsley
  • 1/4 cup onions (optional)

Directions:

  1. Clean and slice mushrooms (if using fresh).
  2. Heat butter or margarine in a skillet.
  3. Add mushrooms and onions (if using) to skillet.
  4. Cook slowly, occasionally moving and turning gently with a spoon, until mushrooms are tender and lightly browned.
  5. Sprinkle with minced parsley.
  6. Put mushrooms in a warm dish and serve immediately.
    2 servings 15 min.

Delicious Sweet Pickle Recipe for Canning

Canning sweet pickles

Ingredients for preparing Cucumbers:

  • 7 pounds of cucumbers
  • 2-gallons cold ice water
  • water for rinsing
  • 1 cup pickling lime

Ingredients for Vinegar mixture:

  • 2 quarts White Vinegar (5% Acidity)
  • 8 cups of sugar
  • 1 Tbsp Canning Salt
  • 1 Tbsp Pickling Spice

Directions:

  1. Slice cucumbers thinly, mix lime and water and soak cucumbers for 24 hours in lime water.
  2. Take out and wash well.
  3. Soak for 3 hours in ice water.
  4. Take out of water.
  5. Mix ingredients for vinegar mixture.
  6. Put cucumbers in vinegar mixture.
  7. Soak overnight or at least 10 hours.
  8. Bring to boil.
  9. Stir until sugar is dissolved.
  10. Boil for 35 minutes.
  11. Wash the jars and lids
    • Wash the containers (jars and lids) in hot, soapy water and rinse.
    • Now sterilize the jars by boiling them 10 minutes and keep the jars in hot water until they are used.
    • Put the lids into a pan of boiling water for 5 minutes, and use the magnetic “lid lifter wand” to pull them out.
  12. Fill the jars to within 1/4 inch of the top, wipe any spilled juice off the top, seat the lid and tighten the ring around them.
  13. Once cooled, they’re ready to store. Be sure to label the jars with what it is and when you canned it.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tbs. cooking oil
  • ½ cup salt
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp cream of tarter
  • food coloring (optional)

Directions

  1. Mix and heat ingredients until a ball is forms
  2. Knead a few times.
  3. Store in a Ziploc bag or covered container

Easy Classic Whipped Cream Recipe

CLASSIC WHIPPED CREAM is great on top of most pies. Whipped cream taste great on fruits. Use it to mix together fresh cut up fruit for a fast summertime treat.

Amount: 24 (2 tablespoon) servings


INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 (16 ounce) container Heavy Whipping Cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract


DIRECTIONS:

  1. In large mixing bowl, combine all ingredients.
  2. Using an electric mixer on high speed, beat until fluffy and stiff peaks form.
  3. Refrigerate until ready to use.

Tips:

Use a metal bowl. Place both the bowl and the mixer beaters in the freezer for about 20 minutes before use. This will help the whip cream to make faster.
